Faces of Round Rock with Eugene Haller of Haller Legal

Heritage Office Suites has a wide variety of members and we truly enjoy being able to engage with and learn more about each of them! This month, we had the opportunity to speak with Eugene Haller of Haller Legal. We hope that you enjoy getting to know Eugene as much as we have! Take a look below:

Hi, Eugene! Tell me a little bit about what you do at Haller Legal and what kind of services your company offers.

Haller Legal primarily caters to traffic-related law in the Hill Country. We represent defendants against charges, help defend or restore driving privileges, and help commercial drivers navigate the traffic laws of Texas. We also help with a wide array of criminal defense needs.

How did you get into your current career?

When I passed the bar, I first began representing clients in family law cases. However, there were many things I disliked about that area of law: the long case timelines, the intense emotions, and that I could never quote a client a fixed price, only an hourly rate. I decided to pivot to an area of law where I could work for flat fees, where the cases did not take years to finish, and where emotions did not run so hot. That led me to the niche I am in now.

What can people expect from meeting with you?

I believe attorneys should be warm, friendly, and relatable. My goal when speaking with any potential client is to make them feel comfortable and to let them know that the problems they are facing are faced by millions of others.

What is something about your business that most people don’t know?

Potential clients almost never need to come to our office, but it’s still decorated like we have to impress every client that walks through the door.

Where do you see your business in 5 years?

Still at Heritage Office Suites! By that time, I hope to have a larger staff. We definitely have room to grow to meet demand.

What about your job inspires you?

Being able to drive is essential in Texas. A lot of people hear “traffic law” and think it isn’t important, but to the clients who can drive to work, pick their kids up from school, etc., we are truly changing their circumstances. I like how much of an impact the work we do has.

Give us a little background on yourself. (where are you from, family, education, hobbies, etc.)

I went to Texas Law here in Austin, and for undergrad I attended St. Edward’s University in South Austin. I’m from a military family, so we always moved to different cities when I was young. Texas is home to me because I moved here when I was 18 and I’ve been here ever since.

Other than work, what inspires you?

I like spending time outdoors, hiking, fishing, hunting, and camping. It recharges me for the work I need to do.

Why did you choose Heritage Office Suites? How has Heritage Office Suites helped your motivation/productivity, or how has it helped your business grow?

I was previously with WeWork, and I wanted to move somewhere that was more professional but still had Texas warmth and charm. Even though I don’t need my office for clients, I maintain it because it is the place where I get things done. I cannot work as efficiently anywhere else as I do at Heritage. And as a solo businessman who otherwise wouldn’t have an office full of coworkers, it gives me a sense of community and permanence. I feel like I belong at Heritage, which is not something I can say about any of the other office solutions I have tried.
