Meals on Wheels in Williamson County
Most people are aware of Meals on Wheels and what they do for the homebound and senior community. What you may not realize is the difference this makes in people’s lives. It not only ensures they have enough to eat and a healthy meal, but also that they have interaction with others and someone is looking out for them. Meals on Wheels is a great way to share the love with your community.
Texas Humane Heroes
Texas Humane Heroes places animals in homes when they have none to call their own. Shelters like this one are always in need of money and extra hands in the form of volunteers. You can volunteer to walk dogs, assist with an adoption drive or even foster an animal looking for their forever home. There is even an option for kids to get involved, so bring the whole family and make a multiplied difference. If you aren’t able to spare the time, have an allergy or other reason for not being able to volunteer, organizations like this can always use donations as well.
Round Rock Operation Blue Santa
Blue Santa is a popular event every year in many communities that helps families who are underprivileged or in crisis at Christmas time. The event is headed up by the police department. In Round Rock you can donate unwrapped toys and wrapping paper all year ‘round. The planning and fundraising for families in need starts early in the year. In April there was a BBQ cook-off, keep an eye out for additional events throughout the year and when their drive really gets rolling. You can help by offering donations or collecting them at your business location.
Professional Women of Williamson County
The Professional Women of Williamson County (PWOW) is a fantastic organization for professional women in the Round Rock area to network with other women and gain valuable education on a number of topics from guest speakers. The group gives back to the community in many ways, but the most prevalent is their scholarship fund, to which all membership fees are donated.
